Academia partnership program

Submitted by nestola on

What happens when academic research is tested against real challenges faced in United Nations field operations context?

Through the Academia Partnership Programme, the United Nations Global Service Centre (#UNGSC) collaborated with the Geospatial Technologies Master’s Programme at University Jaume I. This year, the project centred on “Innovative Solutions for Geospatial and IoT Challenges in Field Operations.”

This year, postgraduate student projects turned operational data into practical prototypes using AI, geospatial analytics, and simulation. The results included predictive models, interactive dashboards, and optimization tools to support disaster response, humanitarian operations, fuel efficiency, and situational awareness. Several of these solutions are being assessed for further development within UNGSC.

UNGSC is proud to connect academic talent with real-world UN challenges and looks forward to continuing this collaboration.
