Submitted by Nadia Caputo on

The United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC) announces the appointment of Anton Antchev as its new Director, effective 1 March 2025. With over 20 years of service within the United Nations system, Mr. Antchev brings a wealth of experience and leadership to this critical role. This appointment comes at a pivotal time, amid the changing landscape of peace operations. As Director, Mr. Antchev will oversee the Centre’s extensive operations, which provide essential logistical, engineering, digital technology, and environmental solutions to UN field missions and other entities worldwide, as part of the UN Department of Operational Support, Office of Supply Chain Management.

Mr. Antchev has a distinguished track record of leadership in complex environments. Notably, he served as Director of Mission Support for the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) since March 2020, where he led critical support operations in one of the most challenging logistics and security settings. Prior to that, he held the position of Chief of UNGSC’s Supply Chain Service, among other key roles within the UN system. "I am deeply honored to have the opportunity to lead this dynamic Centre," said Mr. Antchev during his first visit to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy in his new capacity. "UNGSC is uniquely positioned to leverage its infrastructure, diverse capabilities, and swift deployment readiness to support our clients in fulfilling their mandates in some of the world’s most complex environments. I look forward to working alongside our dedicated and professional staff members in Brindisi, Italy and Valencia, Spain, to ensure continued excellence in service delivery and tailored solutions to meet the rapidly evolving needs of our clientele."
