“A Beacon of Service” – UNGSC marks 30 years of support for the UN’s efforts, in the presence of UN Secretary-General António Guterres and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy Antonio Tajani.
Recognized as “a beacon of service in a troubled world,” by Secretary-General Guterres in his remarks, UNGSC’s support for the UN’s supply chain and digital technology needs is increasingly called upon for crisis response and considered a lifeline for UN operations in some of the world’s most remote locations.
The commemoration of UNGSC’s 30th anniversary by UN Secretary-General António Guterres, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy Antonio Tajani, President of the Puglia Region, Mr. Michele Emiliano, and Mayor of Brindisi, Mr. Giuseppe Marchionna, in advance of the G7 Summit presided by the Government of Italy, underscores the role of UNGSC as a key partner in supporting new approaches to peace operations and global security, including in collaboration with other key stakeholders, to advance shared goals.
