UNGSC at 30: A Trusted Partner in a Changing World

Submitted by Kristof Hamelryckx on

2024 marks the 30th anniversary of the United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC). Building on three decades of experience, as well as on the staff’s recognized expertise and dedication to service excellence, the organization is positioned to strengthen its efforts towards the United Nations goals.

As part of the Department of Operational Support, Office of Supply Chain Management, UNGSC will continue to provide critical support, remotely and on-site, for all stages of peace operations, including drawdown and liquidation activities, striving to ensure a positive legacy in local communities.

In view of the constantly evolving realities on the ground, UNGSC will leverage its innovation, capacity, and client orientation, adapting, and prototyping new solutions for supply chain and digital technology needs.

While remaining a reference for emergency support wherever and whenever required, as with recent crises in Ukraine, Haiti, and the Middle East, UNGSC is equally committed to thinking ahead, and to acting sustainably.

From the implementation of a circular supply chain to the rollout of smart technologies in field missions, to the 100% renewable energy use at UNGSC Bases, the centre is contributing to the advancement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals at home and in the field.
