Fostering Digital Synergies and Knowledge Exchange with the European Union

Submitted by Nadia Caputo on

A high-level delegation from the European Commission’s Office of Infrastructure and Buildings (OIB/EC), joined by representatives of the European Parliament and the European External Action Service, visited UNGSC Valencia on 1 October 2025.

The visit advanced ongoing exchanges of knowledge and expertise between the UN and EU on data-driven facility management, IoT applications, and sustainable infrastructure development. Discussions also focused on how the Unite FRIM platform and related digital tools can support shared objectives in operational efficiency and environmental performance.

The engagement reflects a joint commitment to building interoperable, transparent, and sustainable systems for managing public infrastructure — reinforcing UNGSC’s role as a strategic enabler of digital transformation across the UN system.
