UNGSC Director, Mr. Anton Antchev, was pleased to meet with senior officials from the host City of Brindisi, Prefect Luigi Carnevale and Mayor Giuseppe Marchionna. Both officials recognized the important role of UNGSC and expressed their support for strengthening collaboration between the Centre and the local community. They also conveyed their appreciation for UNGSC’s participation in the delegation that presented Brindisi’s candidacy for the Italian Capital of Culture 2027 at the Ministry of Culture in Rome.
Mr. Antchev reaffirmed UNGSC’s commitment to furthering cooperation, noting that Brindisi has been instrumental in supporting global UN operations for over three decades, serving as the host city of UNGSC since 1994. With its strategic significance dating back to Roman times, this historic port city continues to serve as a hub for culture and global collaboration.
