Ms. AnneMarie van den Berg was appointed Assistant Secretary-General for the Office of Supply Chain Management on April 10th, 2023.

From 2020 she led the UN System-wide COVID-19 MEDEVAC Task Force, and from 2021 she served as the Global COVID-19 Vaccine Deployment Coordinator. 

Prior to that, Ms. van den Berg served as the Director of the Logistics Division. 

Bringing a wealth of supply chain, logistics and field expertise in challenging and diverse environments, she leads an integrated team responsible for supply chain management, including logistics service delivery, procurement, uniformed capabilities support and supply chain enabling activities. 

She has extensive experience in logistics and supply chain management and has led a series of transformative change initiatives.  She served in various positions throughout Africa, Central Asia and Central America with the World Food Programme.  Before joining UN Headquarters, she was the Chief of the Integrated Support Services in the United Nations Mission in Sudan (UNMIS) and Deputy Director of Mission Support in UNMISS, Juba, South Sudan. 

Ms. van den Berg is passionate about change management, technology, and innovation in supply chain as a driver of enhanced mandate delivery and greater impact.  She holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s Degree of Arts in Latin American Studies, and is fluent in Dutch, English, Portuguese and French.
